We’ve talked about how tough the job search is. From dealing with career rejection to finding those hidden connections, job searching in the 21st century definitely has its pros and cons. While it’s easy to complain about the job search, today there are tons of resources out there to help. One of the big ones is job searching with social media, which is the topic of Joshua Waldman’s second edition of the book “Job Searching with Social Media For Dummies.”

In the book Waldman discusses a number of things around the job search and social media including great new networking tools, blog posts for career success, online reputation management updates, brand new online resume building tools, Twitter and Facebook tips, social networks you shouldn’t ignore, and much more.

A feature I’m particularly proud of are tools that help you to organize your career. Not to toot our own horn, but it’s no coincidence Waldman mentions CareerShift just after noting how important the user interface is for a job search resource. Waldman highlights the awesome benefits our platform has to offer, including:

  • Job board aggregation service
  • Document management
  • Contact database
  • Campaign management

While we improve CareerShift in the coming year, we’d love to hear from you and get your endorsement, as well. In the mean time though, be sure to pick up the latest edition of the book, and check out the mention of CareerShift (we’re on page 30!).

Thanks to Joshua Waldman and his team for including CareerShift!

Have you picked up “Job Searching with Social Media For Dummies”? What do you think of the book?
